PATTERN MAKER


This program addresses students who wish to orient or reorient their careers within the Fashion Industry, particularly in jobs closely related to pattern making, and to those who wish to express their artistic talents through making of garments.

The objectives of this program is to allow the students to understand and perform the tasks performed by a pattern maker in the Fashion Industry. They will acquire knowledge in areas such as drawing and textiles, which will allow them to complete their training in Fashion Design. They will learn draping, industrial sewing and pattern drawing, and will be able to create collections reflecting the latest styles and trends.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Graduates from this programme will perform tasks of a pattern maker such as: pattern development, prototype corrections, evaluation of samples, etc.

They will work in the Fashion Industry and various other industries related to the arts, and will occupy positions such as:

* Pattern Maker
* Costume Maker or Fasion Coordinator for
  o Television
o Performing Arts
o Theatre
o Magazines
* Accessory Designer
